First is the Worst, Second is the Best

The words remain true ever since we first heard them on the playgrounds.

When starting a new project, launching a new business, or attempting to create something novel, the first go-around will be long, arduous, and uncertain.

You’ll feel like you’re not making any progress.

But you’ll notice a change once you finish your first gig, your first book, your first sale: the progress was there all along, but you never knew because it never happened before.

The second try will be followed by your first mistakes and successes.

You’ll cut out much of the unnecessary fluff and focus on what mattered. You’ll go at it faster because you’re no longer hesitating. More importantly, you’ll know you’re making progress. The second go-around is better than the first.

But to get to the second go-around, you must go through the first.

First is truly the worst, but second feels the best.

Here’s my inspiration for the day.
