Spring’s Rain

Where I live, Spring starts with a week’s worth of rain followed by a week’s worth of sun.

That’s not always the case— in some years the rain doesn’t start until a few weeks into Spring.

But there will always be a week where it’s nothing but mud, dark clouds, and raindrops.

I like it. The contrast between the cool breeze and the damp soil becomes apparent when those are the only two types of weather.

Some don’t like the contrast, but it helps you understand why both are needed— the flowers can’t grow without the water.

It helps you learn to appreciate the beauty of both.

Here’s my quote for the day.

The earth laughs in flowers.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson
