The Bird Trapped in the Truck

I saw a bird trapped in one of my father’s broken-down trucks. She tried to get out, but the windows were rolled up. I wondered how she got inside in the first place.

I opened one of the doors to let her out. Instead of escaping from the truck and flying free, she quickly went to the other side, where the door was closed. She tried to get out through that door despite it being closed. She didn’t want to get near me where I was holding the door open. In the end, I left the door open and walked to the other side of the truck, where she struggled to escape. Because she was still afraid of me, she flew to the open side of the truck and finally escaped.

I’m happy she became free, but sad she remained fearful of me.

We’re naturally afraid of things we do not understand, but I believe we need to take a leap of faith to be rewarded with our freedom.

If I were the bird trapped in the truck, would I have acted the same because of my fear? Or would I have taken the chance to attain my freedom despite the fear?

TAKEAWAY: There are times when we need to take a risk despite not knowing the outcome if we want to attain our freedom.

Here is my inspiration for the day.
