Seth MacFarlane overslept and missed his flight on September 11, 2001, which would later crash into the World Trade Center.
Over brunch with a friend I hadn’t seen in months, I was reminded of that when he mentioned his friend overslept, which forced them to attend a different Mass than usual.
And that Mass happened to be the one I was attending, which brought us together for brunch.
The unexpected is rarely convenient, but better to go along with it than to go against.
Who knows, you might get a free meal out of it like I did.
