I will forever be in debt.
Not from my student loans or credit card debt.
Those will eventually get paid off.
I’m referring to a deeper kind of debt.
I’m referring to those who believed in me before I believed in myself.
To those who fed me, taught me, mentored me, and connected me to opportunities.
I incurred a debt to those who expected something from me and wanted me to do great work.
I can’t repay such debts with just money.
Some of the people I owe are no longer here; others are still close enough to appreciate.
I may never fully repay it all. But I can honor the debt by doing the important work.
I owe them that much, and then some.
Here’s my quote for the day.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
Winston Churchill
