When Curiosity Leads

I started doodling in my notebook a few weeks ago.
It calms me and helps keep my focus on the things I’m working on.

My doodles are just that: random patterns, shapes, and lines I subconsciously draw while thinking of other stuff or talking to others.

But just a few days ago, an actual something emerged from one of my doodles.

I thought it would be a cute cloud, like all my other previous doodles that resulted in clouds.

But no.

This time, I doodled a bird.

The bird looks soft, simple, and developing.

I liked looking at it so much that I started sketching other birds that came to mind.

I don’t know what came over me, except that I’ve come to enjoy sketching birds and can’t stop.

Sure, they don’t all look cute. But that’s not the point.

In fact, how the bird looks after I finish it says a lot more about me than anything else.

Sketching birds was not a hobby I thought I would have.
But my curiosity won me over, and now I’m letting it lead me.
