Every now and then, I’m surprised by how much joy I get from the small things in my daily life: the appearance of my made bed, the clothes I pick and wear for the day, the books I read, the music I listen to, the people I speak to, the words I write.
On the larger stage, there is much to be desired— and many areas needing improvement.
Regarding my goals and achievements, I am very dissatisfied with where I stand.
And yet, I’m content with where I’m starting and the tools at my disposal.
These contradictions at times confuse me. But in any case, I know where I want to be, and I’m well-aware of how long the road is.
Still, I find joy in getting there.
The roadblocks and detours are part of what makes life so interesting.
