Running Out Of Ideas? Ask Bizarre Questions

Do ninjas still exist? And if so, what type of work would they have? What if ninjas lived in a hot desert? Would they still be ninjas?

What if cities were designed to be self-sustaining? What if everyone worked remotely? What if there was a small machine that generated random ideas for you?

The belief that you can run out of ideas is only possible when you haven’t asked enough questions. The world is a work of wonders. If you spend one day looking around and making observations, your curiosity should give you enough questions. The more information you gather, the easier it is to ask questions.

See the world as a bizarre place, one where we can warp our shit to a different location in 5 seconds and where 100 people can fly over countries in a small aircraft. It sounds bizarre, yet it’s true. From a different angle, the things we’re accustomed to are truly strange. But we accepted it because it’s the world we live in.

Stephen King’s novel The Dead Zone came from two questions: can a political assassin ever be right? And if he is, could you make him the protagonist of a novel?

Never disregard an idea. Chew on it, and swallow it if tastes good; spit it out if it doesn’t.

And don’t forget to ask bizarre questions.

Here’s my inspiration for the day.
