Terminally Ill

I’ve encountered stories of people’s lives changing after discovering they’re terminally ill. Some see it as a sign to live with no regrets, others see it as an impending doom, with all hope gone.

The stories of those who chose to live are audacious and inspiring; they make you feel like you, too, can take on the world. But those who refuse are painful and depressing, like there’s no point in trying.

It seems like being terminally ill amplifies our thoughts and makes us act closer to how we really feel about life. It must be a surreal experience to go through. I can’t even imagine how gut-wrenching it would be. It seems bold and scary.

Yet, life seems more enjoyable when it’s bold and scary. Dissatisfaction and regrets are left after the mundane and uneventful pass. To prevent it, risks must be taken. No one wants to live a life that wasn’t intended for them.

Live as if you’re terminally ill, as if you’ve not much left to live, as if life brings you closer to death, because it does.

It’ll amplify your thoughts and actions, and get rid of unnecessary feelings. It’ll make you appreciate more, and be satisfied with less. That’s the reason why those that went through a near-death experience have a shift in their attitude towards life.

There’s something about living honestly that can’t be ignored.

Here’s my inspiration for the day.
