An Analogy For a Car-Centric Culture

Progress is like driving a vehicle:

Go too fast and you’ll get stopped by external forces. Worse, you’ll end up in an accident that jeopardizes yourself or those around you.

Go too slow and you’ll obstruct others around you.

But, like progress, the goal is to arrive at a specific destination within a specific time frame.

To do that without setbacks, you must apply the right amount of pressure, at the right time, in the right direction.

It’s understandable you want to get there faster, but it’s better to be cautious. There isn’t a guarantee that the path you’re taking will get you there— sometimes, there will be detours.

But if you go at a steady pace and allow yourself time to prepare rather than rushing, you’ll arrive there safely and on time.

We will thank you for being careful.
