Bide Your Time

Today was the day I had the most free time to work on my projects.

I got started, and 10 minutes later, I was still getting started.

Then, 20 minutes passed.

Then, I discovered an outage in my area, which prevented me from accessing the internet and, therefore, bricked my laptop.

The LinkedIn post I wrote was meant to be released around 10 a.m. Thanks to the outage, it was released around 12:30 p.m.

And by the afternoon, I hadn’t even started my project, which was due tonight.

And I still haven’t published my daily draft.

All because I was still waiting for the internet.

At first, I was upset.

Then, I stepped away from the constant reloading on my screen to do something else, like reading.

I read for a few hours, considered what I needed to write, and then took a 20-minute nap.

I woke up feeling energized and poised.

Apparently, there was still an outage, but the internet was fast enough for me to finish my project and publish this draft.

I bid my time, and it turned out just fine.

Possibly better than if I hadn’t.

Here’s my quote for the day.

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.
