Extremes are feared because they’re unhinged. They rely on emotions and cause concern for the masses. They spew information and misinformation. It’s hard to tell what’s right from wrong.
Being an extreme on everything is waiting to be destroyed. The human body can’t handle it. It would break us.
That’s why it’s wise to be a moderate in almost everything. A moderate in politics, in wealth, or in family is preferable, and it’s beneficial to our communities.
But once you find something you’re serious about, something that calls out to you, preventing you from living peacefully, something that ruins you if it’s not given attention, then it’s okay to be an extreme about it.
When you find something that makes you obsessive, with no need for rationality, and if it’s hurting no one but yourself, then perhaps it’s okay to be extreme.
It’s hard to find it, but it’s worth finding the right one.
Here’s my inspiration for the day.
