“Oh that’s an interesting idea. I was thinking of trying that myself.”
Ideas shared will lead to ideas stolen. It can’t be helped.
But it’s better to assume ideas will get stolen, because what’s stolen is viewed valuable, and is used in new ways. An idea is nothing but a permeating thought.
And you want it to permeate. You want it to spread like a virus. How else would you get others get on board?
If your idea was stolen, that means it’s worth something to someone. It also means that you’re heading in the right direction. If you really care about the idea, then you’ve no choice but to act on it faster than anyone else. The onus is on you.
If you steal an idea, make it better; make it superior to the original; make it yours. Ideas are only as good as the person thinking them. And always give back.
So, by all means, steal my ideas.
Were they ever mine to begin with?
Here’s my inspiration for the day.
