How a Simple Talk Can Change Everything

I’m a firm believer that communication can solve most of our problems.

Dialogue isn’t a panacea, and it won’t magically make your issues go away. But it’s the best possible start to recognizing what’s going on. It helps us narrow down what the actual problem is, and how to solve it.

Not too long ago, I wrote an article that aimed to answer the question: what was I doing with my life in the past 10 months and why have I not done anything?

I discovered things about myself that made me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable. I let my fingers continue typing away until I got everything out.

The truth wasn’t pretty.

But it helped me understand what really happened and why. I was disgusted with myself, but I felt better to have finally let it out.

Once the truth was out, it was time to start having the tough conversations with my friends and family. What felt hopeless and career-damaging was actually manageable— it always was.

Since then, I’ve received more support than I could’ve possibly asked for, and my parents are helping me every step of the way.

I’m now taking the proper steps to getting my life back on track.

And all it took was a clear and concise conversation— with myself, and then with my friends and family.

All it takes is a clear and concise conversation to begin solving a conflict, whether internal or external.

Here’s my inspiration for the day.
