That which can never be lost will never be appreciated.
If something were to be attained for an indefinite period, with no shortage of supply, and no concerns of it being taken away, there would be no feeling of despair in it disappearing.
There would be no sense of urgency in doing anything else, for what you desire is already in your possession.
No progress will get made, for we already acquired the resources we need.
And the world will soon get stopped in its tracks.
We only appreciate what we fear we might lose.
And we do everything we can to ensure it never leaves us.
Scarcity is what keeps the world spinning.
Here’s my quote for the day.
The way to love anything is to realize that it may be lost.
G.K. Chesterton
