Take Yourself Seriously, But Not Too Much

The adage says not to take yourself too seriously.

There’s truth to this: it helps keep your relationships sane, reduce stress, and enjoy life’s moments.

In a way, it’s laughing at the absurdity that draws people to this belief.

The keyword here is ‘too.’

There’s seriousness in the matters of your business, and it should stay that way.

I say that life’s moments must be taken seriously, but not too seriously.

I agree with the notion of laughing at the absurdity and mixing in foolishness here and there.

Be silly and let the world know about your foolish endeavors.

But do take your matters seriously, and don’t allow intervention.

You don’t need to be a serious person, but you do need a serious view.

The ideal is to be lighthearted and playful with others, while being earnest with yourself.

Learn how serious you must be, but not too much for it will ruin you.

Here’s my quote for the day.

Humanity takes itself too seriously. It is the world’s original sin. If the cave-man had known how to laugh, History would have been different.
