Taking It Step by Step

It’s important to remind yourself that grand goals can’t be completed in a single day. It’ll take weeks, perhaps months, before progress is even recognizable.

There is a mantra I’ve been replaying in my head since turning my life:

step by step.

To progress gradually and unnoticeably is better than to rush and not progress at all. And we’ve practiced this lesson throughout history.

We know that Rome was not built in a day.

That much is true. But they were laying bricks by the hour. In this example, the system was what built Rome. Were it not for the bricks being laid every day, Rome wouldn’t be Rome.

The prioritization on the system you built will triumph any goal you have—big or small.

I’m learning this slowly, but I’m taking it step by step.

Here’s my inspiration for the day.
