The College Student’s Dilemma

While in college, I was fortunate to work out of a studio with 24/7 access. The studio is ground-level and has a see-through window, where I often observed students walking to and from their classes. Every now and then I notice interesting situations.

One time, I observed a student who just got out of his class and noticed that his roommate was outside the building in his car and it seemed like the perfect chance for the student to go home with him, except that the student had a friend picking him up.

The friend was already waiting for him.

The student, with no remorse, decided to go with his roommate back to their apartment and wave off the other friend who was already waiting for him at the same location.

I felt bad for the student’s friend who endured for who knows how long to pick him up only to not pick him up at all.

It might have been the logical choice, but was it the better choice?

Here’s my inspiration for the day.
