The act of writing letters but never sending them must return.
With instant messaging, it’s now easier than ever to type a message and instantly erase the evidence.
This happens.
But it happens too quickly. We no longer sit with such impulsive thoughts and let them simmer.
We’re too quick to take the pan off the heat, fearing that something can’t be recovered to its former state.
Write the letter, read it out loud, and if it’s not aligned with your character, then discard it.
But at least you had time to think about it. At least you had time to decide if sending the message was worth your time and responsibilities.
Because once the message is sent, the message will be received.
Sometimes the best conversations are the ones we have with ourselves.
